Shawn O'Donnell here, President of the Battlestar Galactica Fan Club.
I wanted to talk to you about our DVD presentation, that & what went into pulling the Galacticruise together to begin with.
It all started with a bunch of really dedicated people (who are going to have full credit on the DVD) who worked so very hard for well over a year to pull this together.
The celebrity guests of course added their own special magic to the mix...but all in all it was you, the fan's of Battlestar Galactica that put the bow on the gift.
This all began with the original Galacticon in 2003, held in Los Angeles that set the stage, marking the 25th anniversary of the show.
Galacticruise was an extension of that...organized to honor the 30th anniversary celebration...it was & is in fact Galacticon II.
Again it was hard work but a labor of love to pull this together.
But we knew that we were on the right track with a mission in mind & the result was pure magic.
The seed of this project was germinating well before the actual event...at a time when it was realized that something special needed to happen for the 30th anniversary.
I can tell you that things were being put together more than a year & a half in advance.
As the structure was being built it did indeed take on a life of it's own.
This all star fest features some of the best talent to grace the screen, both with Battlestar Galactica & beyond it.
